The Attack Is Proof You’re Aligned

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)

Devotional

Let’s be real — spiritual warfare is not just a metaphor. It’s a battlefield.

And the enemy has been watching you closely.

Not when you were coasting.

Not when you were compromising.

But the moment you said, “I’m all in for Jesus.”

That’s when it started.

The pressure.

The anxiety.

The distractions.

The relational tension.

The sudden storm after the spiritual high.

You didn’t imagine it.

You were targeted.

Because hell doesn’t waste bullets on those who pose no threat.

If the enemy’s been roaring louder lately — trying to knock you off your rhythm, flood your mind with fear, convince you to give up or tone down your faith — it’s likely because you’ve finally stepped into dangerous territory…

For him.

You’re not under attack because you’re weak.

You’re under attack because you’re walking in authority.

You’re not crazy.

You’re called.

And here’s what the enemy hates more than anything:

A believer who refuses to fold.

A son or daughter who gets hit but stays holy.

Who gets tired but keeps worshiping.

Who feels the fire but still chooses faith.

That’s why Peter tells us to be alert and sober-minded.

You’re in a war — and the moment you realize that, you stop being passive and start getting prepared.

This isn’t the time to fall back.

This is the time to armor up.

Put on the helmet of salvation and silence the lies.

Grip the sword of the Spirit and speak the Word.

Stand firm, rooted in righteousness, and know:

The battle is not just around you. It’s because of what’s within you.

God is raising up warriors in this generation who won’t bow to pressure, popularity, or fear.

You are one of them.

So if the fire’s getting hotter — don’t panic.

You’re not being punished.

You’re being proven.

Reflection Questions

  1. Where in your life do you feel under spiritual attack right now?
  2. What truth from God’s Word can you speak over that situation today?
  3. Are you living like a threat to hell — or a spectator on the sidelines?

Pray with us…

Father, thank You for reminding me that resistance is often proof of purpose. When the pressure rises, help me rise with it — armed in Your truth, alert to the schemes of the enemy, and rooted in Your presence. Teach me to walk with boldness, even when it costs me comfort. I don’t want to be passive. I want to be powerful. Use me to shake the gates of hell — not just with what I say, but with how I live. In Jesus’ name, amen.
